I am Many Hands – Light Work, an ambitious, large-scale, acrylic, neon sculpture created by students from Sir David Brand School under the guidance of artists Mandy White, Natalie Scholtz and Tegan Jenkins.
Vibrant and joyous, when suspended I interplay with light and emit my own fluorescent energy. I have delighted audiences in exhibitions at PICA Gallery in the Perth Cultural Centre, FORM Gallery in Claremont. Now I’m about to travel overseas for the first time; an element of me will be exhibited in Kyoto, Japan, this April.
I’ve delivered so much happiness and engagement on display, I would be heartbroken to be put in storage when I return from Japan.
So I’m putting out the call.
Can you help me find my forever home?
I’m desperately seeking a kind, philanthropic, arts-loving new owner who can meet my specific needs.
I require space, approximately five square metres. I would suit an organisation or building with a large foyer or open space. I love daylight, but could also continue to shine with lighting installed.
Not only will my new owner take custodianship of a significant work of community-created art, they will be making a difference to the lives of young people living with disabilities.
Proceeds from my sale will go towards Community Arts Network’s creative partner, Sir David Brand School, which delivers high quality and high care programs for students with a disability aged from 4 to 18 years.
So, do you have what it takes to give a unique sculptural installation my forever home?
