Birralyn Kaartadjin: Bayswater Knowledge Exhibition

Exploring the meanings of five Noongar placenames located in the City of Bayswater, the beautiful artworks on display in this exhibition provide a window into the significance of each of these places in Noongar life and culture, pre-colonisation. These artworks were created by Noongar Elders, Traditional Owners and community members, led by creative producer Zali Morgan and supported by Traditional Owner and Noongar artist Geri Hayden, during Place Names Bayswater, a project produced by Community Arts Network in collaboration with the City of Bayswater and Moodjar.
The exhibition opening also included the launch of the book of the same name, Birralyn Kaartadjin | Bayswater Knowledge. This evocative publication captures stories shared by Elders and Traditional Owners during the Place Names Bayswater project and is illustrated with images of the community-created artworks.
