In the early morning chill, overlooking the quiet Beeliar and bustling Boorloo, over 7,000 people walked through Kaarta Koomba to support National Reconciliation Week. Community Arts Network was the last stop in the Walk for Reconciliation where attendees were invited to create a bespoke piece of jewellery from raffia and decorate their very own Noongar bush doll made from natural materials collected in the park.
A huge thank you to our incredible artists Sharyn Egan and Geri Hayden for helping hundreds of walkers create gorgeous keepsakes.
"Reconciliation must live in the hearts, minds and actions of all Australians as we move forward, creating a nation strengthened by respectful relationships between the wider Australian community, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples." Reconciliation WA

Below is a gallery of some of the dolls created during the walk. The photos are organised in the order they were made.
