On Country Trip for Northam Lullabies

On Country Trip for Northam Lullabies
By Community Arts Network
22 August 2022

Northam Lullabies participants spent a morning out at Katrine, near Northam, to share songs, Noongar language and enjoy a feed together.

The session was led by facilitators, Cyndy Moody and Phil Bartlett, with the group singing lullabies together. A feast of kangaroo tails and damper was cooked up by Cyndy and group member Donna Moody with steaming hot tea straight from the billy can.

Group members will now start to create their own personal lullabies in Noongar which will be professionally recorded by the group and the lullabies team - Cyndy, Phil and Sean Lillico.

The Northam Lullabies album will be launched in September 2022 in Northam.

Thanks to Shire of Northam for providing the bus for the day and Michelle Blackhurst for capturing such beautiful photos.
