Community Arts Network joined forces with the Awesome International Arts Festival to form and present the Djinda Djinda Community Choir, a joyful offshoot of the Lullabies program.
Two free workshops led by Noongar facilitators Phil Bartlett and Charmaine Councillor enabled 25 participants from different backgrounds and ages to learn to sing in Noongar.
This project culminated in two on-stage performances to an audience of 200 people, both held at the Perth Cultural Centre during the 2019 Awesome International Arts Festival.
A Noongar language postcard and songbook featuring art by multimedia artist Yabini Kickett was distributed to encourage Noongar culture and language awareness amongst a wider audience.
