Community Arts Network (CAN) is delighted to announce the appointment of Zali Morgan as Chairperson of the CAN Board. Zali is joined by newly appointed directors James Arvanitakis (Deputy Chair), Helen Curtis (Secretary) and Sisonke Msimang, alongside Treasurer Thomas Franklyn.
The CAN Board has now been restored to quorum and is grounded in skills, knowledge and experience spanning community arts and cultural development (CACD), arts and culture more broadly, education, diversity and inclusion, governance, leadership and financial management.
CAN is now working towards calling a Special General Meeting to elect the final Board Directors, as per the CAN constitution. We are grateful for the support and patience of our members, project participants, artistic collaborators, partners, supporters and funders as we have navigated these steps. We are confident and excited about CAN’s future under the new Board.
“I am thrilled to have been elected as the new Chairperson for CAN. As a dedicated community engaged practitioner, artist and curator, I fundamentally believe in the power of this organisation and its future working with WA communities and artists,” said newly elected Chairperson Zali Morgan.
