Membership Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Community Arts Network membership! These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your membership and use of our services. By becoming a member, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Membership eligibility

• To join Community Arts Network, you must:
  • Provide accurate and complete information during registration
  • Have a genuine interest in supporting and participating in community arts
  • Agree to follow our community guidelines and code of conduct
• We reserve the right to approve or decline membership applications at our discretion.

2. Membership approvals

• Your membership with Community Arts Network is conditional until approval from our Board of Directors.
• All Members must comply with the organisation's constitution and support the purposes of the company.
• The Board of Directors are not required to provide reason for rejecting a membership application.

3. Member responsibilities

• As a member, you agree to:
  • Keep your contact information current
  • Pay membership fees on time
  • Respect other members, staff and community partners
  • Follow facility rules when using community spaces
  • Support the mission and values of the Community Arts Network
  • Notify us promptly of any changes to your membership status

4. Payment terms

• Membership fees
  • Annual membership fees are due at the time of registration and each renewal date
  • Payment can be made by credit card
  • Membership fees are non-refundable except as specified in our cancellation policy
• Member-Initiated Cancellation
  • You may cancel your membership within the first 30 days of membership to receive a full refund of your membership fees
  • No refund will be provided for memberships cancelled after the first 30 days
• CAN-initiated termination
  • We may terminate memberships for violations of these Terms or our code of conduct
  • In cases of termination for cause, no refund will be provided
  • We will provide written notice and opportunity to address concerns when possible

5. Code of conduct

• All members must:
  • Treat others with respect, dignity and kindness
  • Use inclusive language and behaviour
  • Respect the creative work and intellectual property of others
  • Report concerns or violations to the CAN team promptly
• Prohibited behaviour
  • The following behaviours may result in membership suspension or termination:
    • Harassment, discrimination or threatening behaviour
    • Sharing membership benefits with non-members, without permission

6. Privacy and data protection

• We are committed to protecting your privacy:
  • We collect only information necessary for membership administration
  • Your personal information will not be shared with third parties without your consent, except as required by law
  • You may request to review, update or delete your personal information at any time
  • We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data

7. Changes to Terms

• We may update these Terms periodically to reflect:
  • Changes in our programs or services
  • Legal or regulatory requirements
  • Community feedback and needs
• We will provide 30 days notice of significant changes through:
  • Email to all members
  • Updates on our website
• Continued membership after changes take effect indicates acceptance of the updated Terms.
