Noongar Lullabies has officially launched in Belmont and we invite all First Nations families to join this FREE program. This is an incredible opportunity to write and record your own lullaby, make your own story doll or just come down to sing and learn Noongar language! Join us every week or drop into a session when you can at the Belmont Hub.
Leading the project will be acclaimed actress, singer and songwriter Della Rae Morrison, alongside her son Kobi Morrison who is also an acclaimed musician, songwriter and choir leader. As well as songwriting, an important part of the Lullabies project is craft making and this year we will be hosting doll making workshops with artist and traditional owner Geri Hayden. Rounding off this awesome team is actress/writer/filmmaker Irma Woods and Brazilian born community arts practitioner, Lidia Castro.
Noongar Lullabies Belmont is funded through the Federal Government's Indigenous Languages and the Arts Program with support from the City of Belmont.
