PROJECT
High VisAbility is a project about possibility and hope, developed by CAN Executive Producer Michelle White.
Designed to give students with disabilities the opportunity to collaborate with professional artists to create artwork for public exhibition, High VisAbility enables students and their teachers, families and carers to see pathways into the arts for people with disabilities.
Students attend creative workshops led by a professional artist with lived experience of disability, working alongside the artist to create collaborative artworks. Piloted in 2024, the first iteration of High VisAbility was presented by CAN in partnership with Sir David Brand School (SDBS) and culminated in a pop–up exhibition at PICA as part of the 2024 Awesome Festival, followed by a more expansive exhibition presented at FORM Gallery, in early 2025.
High VisAbility returns to SDBS in 2026 to continue the creative journey that started with the first project.
