Let's paint the town red!
November 30, 2009 | Posted by Adam
A very special effort has been made this year to remind Bendigo that AIDS Awareness Week is happening by a collection of street banners being flown on View Street and in Eaglehawk. This is the first year that these banners have been flown and the promotion was made possible through a grant from the University of Melbourne's Centre for Excellence in Rural Sexual Health (CERSH). We are very grateful for the support provided from CERSH. The banners are a tremendous support to helping us promote this yearly campaign and the range of community events."
Volunteers and local businesses have been selling the ribbons around town during the last week. People who buy and wear a red ribbon will help us raise awareness of HIV/AIDS within the community and their donations go to provide direct support to people living with HIV/AIDS.
For more information regarding how you can show your support for people living with HIV or get involved in other upcoming events or activities, check the website regularly or call the CAN Resource Centre on 5443 8355.
