Hep C research
August 22, 2011 | Posted by Adam
The study will:
- Identify the health and social impact of hepatitis C infection
- Provide information to improve health and social support services for people with hepatitis C and help develop healthier public policy
We are asking people who have been told they have hepatitis C to complete an online survey. We will then contact them again at regular intervals (6 monthly in most cases) so we can find out how if their life has changed since we last contacted them.
In brief, the study is
- national
- entirely online
- anonymous
- open to anybody who has ever been diagnosed with hep C – this includes those who are on treatment, completed treatment – either successfully or unsuccessfully – or are not contemplating treatment
- ongoing
To participate people go to www.chistudy.org.au and fill in a baseline questionnaire, and in between 3-6 months will get an email prompt to participate in follow up. Participants do need to enter an email address, but can be ensured that answers form part of the email reminder system only, and are NOT linked to their answers at all.
